    SILVER DOOR
    A very fine Silver covered wooden door with elaborate silver repousse with viewing grill, The front of the door is flanked by two intricately carved and heavily embossed Goddess Lakshmi standing on a floating Lotus with four hands holding Lotus flowers at the bottom of the viewing grills, and at top a pair of Celestial Devdasis holding Flower Garlands on either side of the viewing grill which has a pair of Peacock. The entire frame of the door is engraved and chased with running creeper and flowers. The centre of the door panel has the inscription written in Hindi as “ Shri Adinath Jain Temple Chickpet Bangalore, Samwat 2027 silver weight kilo 14.040 ” The reverse of the door is profusely engraved and at the bottom of the viewing grill are two similar patterns of shield flanked by profuse foliage and flowers.

    Circa 1900, with Onyx shutters having Turquoise Blue Enamel Floral borders inside the frame edges with engraving in Gold, the shutters are fitted to the main frame with heavy casted and chiseled palm leaf patterns and two large handles in the shape of palm leaves, the bottom portion of the frame is depicting a jungle scene with two hunters on Horse back, hunting wild Boars with spears. The top cornice has the face of a Boar with sprays of palm leaves. The inside enamel work is extremely fine quality with engravings.
