The Decorative beading surrounding the Central Lotus in the shape of a star is intricately carved in the pattern of a protruding Rose Garland. The central dome is in the form of a reverse Lotus the petals of which are in the shape of a scrolling leave.

Early 18th century, with the two hounds standing to attention, displaying much elegance and control, their posture attentive, their backs arched and their snouts stretched straight, standing still on a scumbled ground, which reveals the supremacy of their race. This sculpture was possibly by the Portuguese sculptor and carver Marceliano de Araujo (1690 - 1769). One of the most gifted of the wood-carvers of his time, he created the Portuguese Baroque Church interiors in the 18th century.

L'AGE DES CAVERNES A bronze sculputure with a rich dark green patina, showing a caveman, wearing animal skins at his waist and his hair knotted on a bone, lunging with his hunting knife at a ferocious bear, who is probably acting in defense to protect its young cub that lies at her feet, signed 'Ponsard' on the base and inscribed 'L'AGE DES CAVERNES' on the front. Paul Ponsard was a French sculptor who was well-known for his bronze works that detailed various actions and occurrences. This work has been executed in various sizes.
