A Kurdish Rug

A Kurdish Rug, Caucasian, late 19th C. A very tribal rug, probably woven by Kurdish hands in the Azerbaijan area. The field contains two bold serrated diamond medallions surrounded by a plethora of nave filler elements. Unique three border surround, all in the classic butterfly composition so favoured by Kurdish weavers.
