A Karachopf Kazak Rug, Southwest Caucasus, late 19th C. A highly collectible Caucasian Kazak Karachopf rug - borders on Genje in the northeast and on Karabagh in the southeast, near Lake Sevan. Complete original multi-coloured double braided edges and selvedge both sides. Goats wool warp and red dyed wool weft. Abundant use of the rare old green colour.
