A Karabagh Rug, South Caucasus, late 19th C, with beautiful tiny botehs. An unusual old rug with dark brownish black field with scattered nave botehs across the field. A rather unusual use of dyes and field pattern. There is some corrosion in the field, giving the botehs a three dimensional floating appearance. The unusual size probably points to a rug woven for use as a bag or cover in the tent.
