T.V. Santhosh was born in Kerala and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Fine Art, specialising in sculpture, from Kalabhavan, Santiniketan, in 1994. He later did his Masters in Sculpture at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, in 1997.
Known as one of India's path-breaking, internationally acclaimed contemporary artists, his work is deeply inspired by cinema, news media and popular culture. He employs images from the internet, print media and television to construct eerily realist canvases that are sated with meaning, making strong statements about the existent socio-political state of affairs in India. This work is a is trademark example of his style.
