A Very Rare Khorassan Kurdish Rug

A Very Rare Khorassan Kurdish Rug, Persia, late 19th C. Most probably woven by tribes in the Darreh Gaz area. The large scale field motifs probably represent blossoms and shields. It has very good old colours, specially the green and yellow accompanied by two sorts of light and deep blue. The warp is mixed wool with goat hair. 11 ft 11 in by 5 ft 7 in
