A Qashqai or Luri Tentband and Kilim, Southwest Persia, early 20th C. A kilim like tribal weaving assembled from a long Qashqai or Luri tentband. These narrow tentbands may run in lengths of over fifty feet and are used in nomadic tents as decorative edging. A remarkably abstract weaving with a surprisingly modern aesthetic, reminiscent of certain Navajo and other Native American weavings. 7 ft 4 in by 4 ft 8 in
