Original brown cloth with title embossed on spine in gilt and the name of "Newport Collegiate School" embossed on cover. Evidently a school prize copy since the back of ffp has details in ink about the recipient student. A novel, which comically describes the first year of a newly-arrived cadet from England, it was first published in 1843 in 2 volumes. The author was Francis John Bellew.
