A Gabbeh Qashqai Rug, Southwest Persia, late 19th C. Two diamond medallions covering the field. Old examples of Persian gabbeh (connoting unclipped in Farsi) rugs are quite rare. This rug was probably woven by the Qashqai tribe from the mountainous Zagros region.
