T.V. SANTHOSH (B. 1968)

Toying with images which have already been fed to us, T.V. Santhosh asks to return to them and read them intensely by segregating them and "blowing" them up to enormous size. The visual knots which are embedded in his photographic images are slowly unknotted by this skillful technique of photorealism.
His images are outright political on the surface and the paintings look like photographic negatives. His historical references help us in rethinking the role those images played in creating the history of art and history itself.
